Privacy Policy

NOTE FOR DREW (delete before publishing): This version is written for the consent-banner setup — the Cookies section describes the banner, so publish this policy and install the banner together. Two decisions remain flagged inline: [ADVERTISING] and Clarity masking (set Clarity to Strict masking in its dashboard before publishing, since this policy states form inputs are masked). Recommend a privacy attorney review before publishing.

Ruby Law Injury Attorneys (“Ruby Law,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy describes the personal information we collect through our website at https://callrubylaw.com (the “Site”), our email and text communications, and our social media pages, how we use and share that information, and the choices you have.

This Policy covers information collected from Site visitors and prospective clients. If you become a client of Ruby Law, additional information we collect during your representation is protected by our professional obligations of confidentiality and the attorney-client privilege, which provide protections beyond this Policy.

Information We Collect

Information you provide to us. When you request a free case evaluation, contact us, or communicate with us, we collect the information you choose to share, which may include your name, email address, phone number, zip code, the type of case, and your description of what happened. If you apply for employment with us, we collect the information in your application. If you become a client, we collect information necessary to your representation, which may include medical, insurance, financial, and employment information related to your case.

Information collected automatically. With your consent, we and our service providers automatically collect certain information about your device and how you use the Site, including your IP address, browser and device type, pages visited, links clicked, referring pages, and dates and times of access. This information is collected through cookies and similar technologies, described below.

Cookies, Analytics, and Your Consent

When you first visit the Site, a banner asks whether you consent to analytics cookies. If you decline, our analytics tools are not loaded and no analytics cookies are set. If you accept, we use:

Google Analytics. A web analytics service provided by Google that uses cookies to help us understand Site traffic and usage patterns, such as which pages are visited and for how long. Learn more about how Google collects and uses data at https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites and https://policies.google.com/privacy.

Microsoft Clarity. A behavioral analytics service provided by Microsoft that uses cookies and captures session replays — recordings of how visitors interact with the Site, such as mouse movements, clicks, and scrolling. We configure Clarity to mask the content you type into forms, so the text of your case description and contact details is not captured in session recordings. Learn more at https://privacy.microsoft.com/privacystatement.

Changing your choice. You can change your cookie choice at any time using the “Cookie Settings” link in the footer of the Site. Your choice is remembered for 12 months. You can also:

  • Opt out of Google Analytics across all websites by installing Google’s browser add-on: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout
  • Block or delete cookies through your browser’s privacy or security settings.

The Site functions normally if you decline analytics cookies.

How We Use Personal Information

We use the personal information we collect to:

  • Respond to your inquiries and requests for a free case evaluation, and provide legal services if you engage us;
  • Communicate with you, including by phone, email, and text message where you have consented to such communications;
  • Operate, maintain, and improve the Site, including analyzing usage through the analytics tools described above, where you have consented;
  • Evaluate employment applications;
  • Comply with our legal and professional obligations, enforce our Terms of Use, and protect the rights, safety, and property of Ruby Law, our clients, and others; and
  • Create aggregated or de-identified data that does not identify you, which we may use for any lawful purpose.

For Advertising. With your consent, we may use information about your visit to the Site to show you our advertisements on other websites and platforms.

How We Share Personal Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share personal information only as follows:

  • Service providers. With vendors that perform services on our behalf, such as web hosting, analytics (Google and Microsoft, as described above), case management, and information technology providers, which may access personal information only as needed to perform their functions. We do not share text message opt-in data or SMS consent with third parties for their own marketing purposes.
  • Co-counsel and referrals. At your direction or with your permission, with other law firms or lawyers in connection with joint representation or case referrals.
  • Legal compliance and protection. To comply with law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request; to enforce our agreements; or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Ruby Law, our clients, or others.
  • Business transfers. In connection with a merger, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of assets, subject to the confidentiality obligations that apply to client information.
  • Professional advisors. With our accountants, insurers, auditors, and lawyers as needed.
  • With your consent. In any other circumstance where you direct or consent to the disclosure.

Text Messages

If you provide your phone number and consent to receive text messages from us, we may send you automated texts about your inquiry or case. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP at any time to stop receiving texts, or contact us using the information below.

Marketing Communications

You may opt out of marketing emails by following the unsubscribe link in any marketing message or by emailing us at dr**@*********aw.com. We may still send you non-marketing communications, such as messages about your case or inquiry.

Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as needed for the purposes described in this Policy, to comply with our legal and professional obligations (including client file retention rules applicable to Michigan lawyers), to resolve disputes, and to enforce our agreements.

Information Security

We use commercially reasonable measures designed to protect personal information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please use caution when deciding what information to send us through the Site; do not include highly sensitive details (such as Social Security numbers) in the initial contact form.

Do Not Track

Some browsers transmit “Do Not Track” signals. Because there is no industry standard for responding to them, our Site does not currently respond to Do Not Track signals. Our consent banner provides you a direct way to control analytics cookies on our Site regardless of browser signals.

Children’s Privacy

The Site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information online from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us personal information through the Site, contact us and we will delete it. (Information about minors provided by a parent or guardian in connection with a legal matter is handled as part of the representation.)

Links to Other Websites

The Site may link to third-party websites we do not control, and those sites’ privacy practices are governed by their own policies, which we encourage you to review.

Visitors from Outside the United States

Ruby Law is located in the United States and serves clients in Michigan. Information you submit through the Site is processed and stored in the United States, where privacy laws may differ from those in your jurisdiction.

Your State Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights under your state’s privacy laws, such as the right to know what personal information we have collected about you, to request deletion or correction of it, and to opt out of certain uses. Many of these laws apply only to businesses that meet certain thresholds, but we will honor legitimate requests where required. To make a request, email dr**@*********aw.com with “Privacy Request” in the subject line. We will verify your identity and respond within the time required by applicable law (generally 45 days). We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.

California residents: California Civil Code § 1798.83 permits you to request information about our disclosure of personal information to third parties for their direct marketing purposes; we do not disclose personal information to third parties for their direct marketing purposes. California residents may also exercise the access, deletion, and correction rights described above.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. Changes are effective when the revised Policy is posted on the Site, and the “Last Updated” date at the top will reflect the most recent revision. Material changes will be noted on this page.
